Cambodia Visa for Italian Citizens
The Kingdom of Cambodia is a country not to be missed. While there are many popular destinations located in Southeast Asia, Cambodia is one that has yet to be discovered.
Its neighbors Thailand, Vietnam and Laos are major tourist attractions, especially for Europeans. However, Cambodia is full of cultural attractions, as well as, city and beachside destinations.
The capital, Phnom Penh, is home to the country’s National Museum. The coast is full of nightlife and the remains of the past French colonial rule. The ancient stone temple ruins of Angkor Wat are a UNESCO listed heritage sight not to be missed.
The brave vacationer might enjoy exploring Cambodia’s dense jungles and remote villages. Both of which are found in Koh Kong Provence’s mangrove or in the Cardamom Mountains. The ultimate shopping experience is found in the floating village of Tonlé Sap.
Cambodia has something to offer everyone. This is what makes it such a great destination for a holiday. However, it is important to know that a Cambodia visa for Italians is required to enter the country.
As an Italian citizen, there are two options for acquiring a visa. A visa on arrival is one and an eVisa is the other. A visa upon arrival must be picked up at one of Cambodia’s entry point by queuing at Immigration.
Upon arrival, travelers have to queue at the border to apply and receive the visa in person. Vacationers who want to avoid lengthy queues can apply and receive their Cambodian visa before they have even packed their bags.
While a visa on arrival is a possible option, a Cambodia eVisa is the preferred method. Italian passport holders are able to apply for and receive a tourist visa completely online.
Application Process for Italian Citizens
Applying for a Cambodia visa online eliminates the stress of acquiring a visa on arrival. The Cambodian eVisa is designed to be straightforward from beginning to end.
In just a few steps Italian citizens can fill in the information, pay the visa fee and receive confirmation. It takes only about 10 minutes to complete the application.
It is important that supporting documentation is given with the application submission. This ensures travelers obtain their visa as quickly as possible. Once all the necessary information and the fee are collected the eVisa will be sent to the email provided.
Average approval time varies slightly. On average, approvals are sent within 3 business days. Sometimes visas are approved as soon as 24 hours after the application is submitted.
However, delays do happen. In the case of a delay, a visa might take up to 5 days. Therefore, it is important for travelers to apply for a tourist visa at least one week before their arrival in Cambodia.
Once travelers have an approved visa, they have up to three months from the issue date to use the visa. Each vacationer is allowed a 30-day stay in the country. If a traveler wishes to prolong his or her stay, there is an option of extending the visa for an additional 30 days.
