Cambodia eVisa for Iranian Citizens

In order to make entry to their country smoother for Iranians, the Cambodian government has introduced the possibility of obtaining an eVisa.

The Cambodia eVisa is an electronic travel authorization available for citizens from more than 200 countries. They can apply in a matter of minutes and travel to Cambodia without having to visit an embassy or consulate.

Cambodia eVisa is valid for a single-entry trip of up to 30 consecutive days, although it can be renewed once if necessary. The visa is valid for travel purposes such as tourism, leisure, or family visits.

Cambodia Online Visa Requirements for Iranian Citizens

Before applying for a Cambodia visa for Iranian nationals, travelers must have several documents ready:

  • A passport from an eligible country, in this case, Iran. The passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months after the estimated entry date in Cambodia. It must have 2 or more empty pages for any stamps that will be received at the border
  • A valid payment card to cover the eVisa processing fee. All the major credit and debit cards are accepted, and payment is done through a secure online system
  • An active email address for receiving any correspondence about the visa, including the visa confirmation

It is also necessary for Iranians to have access to a high-speed internet connection since the application is done online. It is possible to apply for a visa using a computer, tablet, or smartphone, at any time and from anywhere in the world.

Although one person can fill in the details for other family members, every traveler including minors needs to submit an individual application form. Furthermore, the eVisa is linked to the passport number and the applicant must travel to Cambodia with the same passport that was used for the application.

Applicants from Iran should also comply with the Cambodian photo requirements when submitting this information.

Once they are sure that they meet all the Cambodia visa requirements for Irani citizens, candidates can go ahead and apply for an eVisa. It is recommended to do this as early as the travel plans are finalized, to account for possible delays. In most cases, however, the visa is approved within 24 hours from the time of application, and no later than 4-5 business days.

Applying for the Cambodia eVisa From Iran

Applying for a Cambodia eVisa as an Iranian citizen is a fairly simple and straightforward process that only takes a few minutes. Candidates from Iran can simply access the Cambodia eVisa application form online, through the official Cambodia Online Visa website.

Iranian applicants are asked to provide the essential personal information (name, place, and date of birth, contact information), passport details (country, passport number, dates of issue and expiry), and answer a few security and health-related questions. Furthermore, they are asked to share their travel plans, including the accommodation address and travel dates.

Two additional documents, a recent passport-size photograph of the applicant and a scan of the biographical page of the passport, can either be attached to the application or provided at a later date.

Once all the information is confirmed as correct, travelers can pay for the visa fee and submit the application. The eVisa approval will be received by email. It is to be presented along with the Iranian passport at one of the Cambodian ports of entry.

Other Cambodia visas available for Irani nationals

For any last-minute travel, Iranians do not have to apply for a Cambodia electronic travel authorization. Instead of obtaining an eVisa online, they can apply for a visa on arrival in Cambodia.

The visa on arrival is available to all the nationalities eligible for an eVisa when entering the country by air or land. Both eVisa and visa on arrival are valid only for tourist visits.

Travelers who intend to work, study, or retire in Cambodia can apply for one of the other Cambodian visa types available: business or E-class visa, study visa, or a one-year retirement visa. In all the above cases, it is necessary to contact the nearest Cambodian embassy or consulate.

Cambodia eVisa: Ports of Entry Available for Iran

Cambodia eVisa holders from Iran can enter the country either through one of several land border checkpoints with Vietnam, Thailand, and Laos or by air.

Cambodia has 3 major airports with commercial flights. The busiest airport is Phnom Penh International Airport in the capital.

When entering the country, Iranians must also check the information regarding the tariffs and goods to be declared in Cambodia.
