Cambodia Visa Requirements for Ecuadorians
In order to visit Cambodia, travelers from most countries must have a valid visa. Citizens of Ecuador are entitled to apply online for an electronic visa or eVisa for Cambodia.
The Cambodia eVisa is a digital travel document that authorizes the holder to visit the country. Eligible travelers, such as Ecuadorian nationals, can obtain one by completing a quick online application form.
The online Cambodia visa application takes about 10 minutes to fill in and can be completed from the Ecuadorian applicant’s home or office rather than taking the trouble of going to a Cambodian embassy, as with tradition consular visas.
As long as the Ecuadorian applicant meets the visa requirements, they will be able to use the eVisa to visit the country as a tourist.
Cambodia Visa Application for Citizens of Ecuador
Applying for a Cambodia eVisa as a national of Ecuador is quick and simple. The applicant must fill in an online application form and pay the required fee.
Before doing this, the applicant must ensure that they meet the Cambodia visa requirements for Ecuadorian citizens, including the following:
- A passport that will be valid for a minimum of 6 months after the intended date of arrival in Cambodia
- Recent passport-sized photograph (in a digital format)
- Current email address
- Credit or debit card
The Ecuadorian applicant must complete the online form with the required information. This includes personal information, passport details, and answering questions regarding the traveler’s health and pertaining to security.
The following information must be submitted as part of the application:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Passport number
- Passport expiry date
- Reason for travel
- Email address
Once the application has been submitted, it is usually processed within 3-4 business days. The approved eVisa for Cambodia is sent to the Ecuadorian visitor by email (to the account they provided in the online form).
It is therefore recommended to apply for the Cambodia electronic visa at least 4 days in advance of the planned trip.
All Ecuadorian nationals must have a valid visa to visit Cambodia, including children. A parent or legal guardian may apply for a Cambodian visa on behalf of a child they are responsible for.
Cambodian Visa Types for Ecuadorian Citizens
There is more than one type of Cambodia visa for Ecuador passport holders.
The eVisa is an electronic tourist visa to visit Cambodia. As described above, it is obtained by applying online in advance of the trip to the Southeast Asian country.
After it has been approved, the Cambodia tourist eVisa is electronically linked to the traveler’s passport.
The traveler is also requested to print out a copy of the valid eVisa that was sent to their email address to present at border control along with the passport they registered in the application.
The eVisa is valid for 3 months. Visitors from Ecuador with the eVisa will be able to pass through border checks quickly and smoothly upon arrival in the country.
Visa on Arrival for Ecuadorians Traveling to Cambodia
The alternative to the eVisa is to wait until arriving at the border. Ecuadorians are eligible to apply for a visa on arrival for Cambodia.
However, this has the drawback of requiring the traveler to stand in line, fill out the form, and wait for approval, potentially spending a long time at border control before being allowed to enter the country.
An even bigger problem is the small risk that the visa on arrival application is rejected due to a forgotten document or another problem, which would result in the traveler being denied entry to Cambodia and being forced to arrange travel home.
Applying for the eVisa for Cambodia in advance is strongly recommended for these reasons.
